Although we live in New York, you might have never experienced the marvelous city we call home. There are events almost every day, from concerts to Central Park Pillow Fights. There are plenty of options in the state everybody loves!

  • Entertainment

Most of us enjoy concerts, that being said there are plenty of venues around Long Island and New York City to enjoy on your spring break! Just to name a few venues, there is the NYCB Theatre at Westbury (Long Island), and Beacon Theatre (NYC) and The Paramount (Long Island) where you can watch The Maine and Mayday Parade featuring in The 2016 American Lines Tour. You can also catch Jukebox The Ghost playing at The Bowery Ballroom (NYC). On the other hand, if you’re trying to keep it low key, you can always visit museums in NYC such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum or the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). They all have exquisite exhibitions you can view with your very own to eyes. Just take a nice visit with your friend to Manhattan when you’re just laying around on the couch. There are far more things you can also do such as visiting the Empire State Building, the Nassau County Museum of Art!

  • Spring Clean-out Challenge

You’d be surprised how many things you have hidden in the crevices of your closets. And you’d be happy to see how many items you can sell online during spring break. Everything from your basic t-shirt, makeup or even electronics will always sell. There are plenty of websites you can use to clean out your drawers by using Ebay, Amazon or even a newer app called Poshmark. All you have to do is quickly clean out those closets, make an account, take a picture, price your item and you can already see the check coming in the mail! Here’s a little hint, a great picture, can lead to a definite sale! Customers like when their items look presentable.

  • Food

There is no question we all love to eat. But, for some reason we never know where to go. Here is your chance to go out and explore new places all around. If you’re into the new vegan vibe you can check out these awesome spots on Long Island named Bee Organic, Grassroots, and Juice for Life. If you aren’t quite ready to work on your Spring bodies, but always ready for a great Instagram picture check out Black Tap Craft Burger in NYC. You can order from an array of candy-molded milkshakes! They are large and certainly going to be in large and in charge of the amount of likes you will be receiving over a milkshake. On the other hand, if you don’t like to go out all that often you can run out to your local supermarket, and prepare a nice stay home meal for you and your family.

  • Arts & Crafts

Have you ever heard of a magical place called Michaels or Blick Art? Well, if you haven’t you’re surely missing out. You can buy plenty of art materials such as, white t-shirts and tie dye, adult coloring books, and beads to make some lovely necklaces and bracelets. The stores have plenty of locations around the state that offer a diverse amount of materials you can work with to start a new project. Another great idea is to buy an origami book. Some of the complicated figures take longer than you think, and when they come out, all your hard effort comes out to a beautiful little figure. Girls, if you have an old jean jacket you can bling it out with a hot glue gun and some gems. Guys, you can buy grommets, and patches to make your jean jackets look you’re a part of the new rock band in town! Get inspired by listening to music, and I’m sure your creativity will flow better than ever.

  • Exercise Class

Haven’t found the right way to motivate yourselves to exercise? Finding the right class to take, or even starting a sport you like can take a little bit of work. Take it upon yourselves to do something great for your bodies this Spring Break! It’s always a great time to start shaping your muscles back into place as summer is right around the corner. There are plenty of exercise classes; you just have to look for the one that suits your technique best. There are barre classes at The Bar Method, Soul Cycle, or you can even take Zumba at your local gyms! If those don’t interest you, go for a run in your local neighborhood, or take up a martial arts class in your area. There are plenty of options when it comes to exercising, we all have to find the right one.

Just apply all of these ideas to your Spring breaks and I’m sure by the time you’re done, you’ll ask yourselves… is it Friday yet?
