As you walk through NYIT’s cafeteria, you will find a wide range of chips, cookies, candy bars and pretzels but NYIT is very conscious about health.  A healthy snack produces a healthy mind and NYIT surely delivers. As I took a stroll through the selection of treats, I found an assortment of watermelon, cantaloupe, granola bars, protein bars, juice, it seemed like the variety would never end.  I was thrilled to see many healthy choices; honestly it was almost difficult to choose.

 

For breakfast at NYIT’s cafeteria there is a large amount of food offered, anything from sausages to French toast to breakfast sandwiches.  I personally found the healthiest choice to be Oatmeal and a juice.  For lunch, the cafeteria has an entire deli station packed with delicious sandwiches.  The Philly Cheese Steak was the first sandwich that caught my eye but of course that wasn’t the healthiest choice.

 

The tuna rap in my opinion is the way to go. There’s nothing like a fresh tuna rap that is packed with protein and whole grains, especially when you can have a fresh, cold coconut water to wash it down.  Another healthy choice for lunch was the Grilled Vegetable Sandwich with mozzarella on a whole grain hero.  I personally tried this sandwich and I have to say it is absolutely delicious.

 

Lastly for dinner, after a full day of healthy eating, I think it’s safe to say that you can treat yourself to that tasty Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with a Naked Fruit Drink and a water to wash it down.  Of course, everyone has a late night snack and you’re in luck because NYIT’s cafeteria has the healthiest most delicious choice for dessert, Nutella! Yes Nutella is chocolate but it is primarily a hazelnut spread, don’t eat too much though! A little chocolate is great but in moderation of course.

 

NYIT has a beautiful spread of food in their cafeteria with a seemingly endless amount of combinations. The healthy ways of NYIT’s kitchen is always growing and you should go check it out for yourself!
