The academic year is rapidly reaching its conclusion as the spring semester is upon us. We continue to look back on the impactful stories our newspaper had to offer throughout the 50 years and sharing memories of alumni who have worked on this publication. For our #SlateThrowback, we look back to May 3, 1993, Ann Seraphine-Han wrote about a NYIT Professor by the name of John Hanc writing about children’s cholesterol. For our #SlateMemory, former Campus Slate Editor in Chief Marisa Musto looks back on her time with the newspaper and how it impacted her life.
The Spring Semester has already made headlines and not even close to spring break yet. After 17 years as President of NYIT, former Campus Slate advisor Dr. Guiliano has decided step down as the search for a new President has begun. We pay tribute to President Guiliano as well as introduce the interim President Shoureshi. Another new face has joined NYIT as the college has hired Dr. Sheldon Fields as Dean of Health Professions.
On the political side, we examine the beginning tenure of President Donald Trump. Also, here the point of view from our very own staff writer about her experience in the Women’s March. What else will the presidency of Donald Trump cause for our society?
